Solar energy is one of the easiest ways to produce your own electricity from the comfort of your own home. Solar Photovoltaic (PV) panels are becoming more efficient and are virtually maintenance free, meaning that you can have them installed and let them work for you without any fuss.

Better still, Solar PV panels are easily installed, and a solar array can be designed for almost any site. Roof-mounted systems are most common, but if suitable south-facing roof space isn’t available, then a ground-mounted solution maybe more your speed. How do I know if Solar PV is suitable for my home?

One of our consultants will conduct a site survey of your property and will provide you with a report listing the best solar energy options for you.

What is a site survey and how long does it take?

A site survey allows our consultants to assess the property and identify your solar energy options. A site survey can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour depending on the size of the site.

What do I need to have prepared before a site survey?

Consultants will need access to collect data such as roof measurements, and may also need access to attic spaces, hot presses and meter boxes. Useful records to have on hand during the survey are up to date electricity bills and your MPRN number.

Can I sell electricity back to the national grid?

In the Republic of Ireland, exporting electricity you produce via Solar PV is not yet available. However, this is subject to change in the near future. If you are considering installing Solar PV, talk to one of our experts for more advice regarding exporting electricity.
